What is polyester fabric

Polyester fabric is a synthetic fiber obtained by spinning polyester obtained by polycondensation of organic dibasic acid and diol. The polyester chain research report pointed out: Industrialized mass-produced polyester fibers are made of polyethylene terephthalate, and the trade name is polyester. It is currently the first large variety of synthetic fibers.
The specific gravity of polyester is 1.38; the melting point is 255~260℃, it starts to bond at 205℃, the safe ironing temperature is 135℃; the moisture absorption is very low, only 0.4%; the breaking strength of the filament is 4.5~5.5 g/denier , Short fiber is 3.5~5.5 g/denier; filament elongation at break is 15-25%, short fiber is 25-40%; high-strength fiber strength can reach 7~8 g/denier, elongation is 7.5~ 12.5%. Polyester has excellent wrinkle resistance, elasticity and dimensional stability, has good electrical insulation properties, sunlight resistance, friction resistance, mildew resistance and moth resistance, good chemical resistance properties, and is resistant to weak acids and alkalis. At room temperature, it has a certain ability to withstand dilute strong acid, but poor resistance to strong alkali. The dyeing performance of polyester is poor, and it must be dyed with disperse dyes under the conditions of high temperature or the presence of a carrier.
Application of polyester
Polyester has many excellent textile properties and wearability. It has a wide range of uses. It can be purely woven, and can be interwoven with natural fibers such as cotton, wool, silk, and hemp and other chemical fibers. It is easy to dry, no-iron and washable and can wear wool-like, cotton-like, silk-like and linen-like fabrics with good performance. Polyester fabric is suitable for men and women shirts, outerwear, children's clothing, interior decoration fabrics and carpets. Since polyester has good elasticity and fluffiness, it can also be used as cotton wool. In industry, high-strength polyester can be used as tire cords, conveyor belts, fire water pipes, cables, fishing nets, etc., as well as electrical insulation materials, acid-resistant filter cloths and paper-making blankets. The non-woven fabric made of polyester can be used for interior decoration, carpet backing, medical industry cloth, fleece, lining, etc.If you are interested in viewing the next article What Is Cotton Fabric
